- Go to your Flickr account and select an image from your Photostream or an Album
- Click the Share this photo icon (a curved arrow)
- Select BBCode, the select the required resolution (Original if you want the image left alone, or else I suggest a maximum horizontal dimension of 1024 pixels)
- Copy the embed code provided then paste it directly into a post (do not use the Insert Image button). I tend to clean up the code by including only the section between and including the [ img]address_here[/ img] tags
The result should be an embedded image, with Flickr doing the hosting. For example:

It seems the above instructions aren't quite doing it for some people. Maybe the following will help a bit: It's hard to explain as when you describe the process correctly, it shows the image rather than what you need to post. So I've done some screenshots from Flickr and from an MSWord document that I have just created. This is what you need to do: Copy and paste the URL in the Flickr webpage. Now THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT Paste it directly into your message and DO NOT try to use the 'Add Image' button from the message tools
Then follow my instructions in the image below. Doing the above gives the following image:
