Hi Tim, I've downloaded and will test later. For the final release how about Radio 5 Sport Extra - great for listening to the cricket!

Moode 2.5 downloaded this morning... Followed the usual routine (image copy, activated in Pi via ethernet cable, Wifi details > GO)
Slight hang-up with saving Wifi settings - Moode not acknowledging save but checked router and it showed up in Wifi list with correct IP address No problem with usb drive but initiating shared folder on Mac as NAS caused the same hang-up at save ... but this time requiring restart to get the NAS name showing in 'Browse' list (was no problem in 2.4...)
Otherwise fine.....

Tim and Moode users
Downloaded the test code. Just played a couple of tracks off the NAS using wire connection not WiFI, perhaps try that later.
I have never used the test code before always taken the final release.
So far looking good. One big advantage I was getting a jitter/drop-out on 24/192 files with 2.4 and was on the edge of posting to see if anyone else had.
I see you have changed the setup notes slightly.
One thing HDTracks do their cover art as a PDF file but Moode only recognises image file. Any chance of adding PDF display in a future release.
Thanks for an excellent player and have a great 2016
Edit: One thing the Reboot/Shutdown menu options are not working as before. In particular Shutdown does nothing I ended up doing a sudo shutdown -P now from a shell.

Hi Alan,
Moode first tries extract coverart image embedded in the audio file, if none exist then falls back to any image file type in the audio file's directory. I thought HDTracks used embedded coverart or albumname.jpg. If they only provide coverart in PDF it would have to be extracted manually. and placed in audio file's directory.
Odd regarding not seeing either the Reboot or Poweroff screens. What do u see after pressing Reboot or Poweroff?
Regards, Tim

Regards, Tim This is the screen I get for both functions ... although the wording underneath the rectangle is different for each. Clicking on 'RECONNECT' does not restart the Pi after a shutdown though (is it supposed to?)

It just provides a convenient way to reconnect to the UI after powering up the Pi. Regards, Tim

Just a brief update on TR2 :-)
A new caching Library loader with enhanced capability for large collections is done.
Once cached on the server, the Library loads very fast. A couple seconds for 20K tracks from USB HDD. Page refresh or reboot won't cause reload of Library, the cache will be used until it's manually cleared, then Library will reload (to get new or changed music for example) and new cache created. The cache creation only adds a small amount of overhead to Library load.
Enhanced large collection capability is courtesy of diyAudio user "anewnadir" :-)
Regards, Tim

Tim, There are a few 'how-to' guides here: theaudiostandard.net/board/5/One for those with flickr accounts and another for photobucket. If you use something else, there is enough info to work it out easily. If you use the 'reply' function (top right hand corner of every post) rather than 'quick reply' you will see the full range of formatting options. You are looking for this icon......

Tim, are there any plans for Spotify support? This is key to some of us trying it out and would allow direct comparison with Volumio, which many of us use. I am attracted by the album/track artwork support.

I can only assume it was because of my misuse of a MacBook track pad. Today using an iPad and stylus it seems to have worked. It is a test version I guess. Best of for the final release

I am attracted by the album/track artwork support. Hi Martin, I recognize the attraction to having streaming services integrated but I get roughly equal number of requests for Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, etc., and since Airplay provides a universal mechanism for playing content from all of them using their full featured native interfaces I've chosen to stick with that for now. In either Moode 2.5+ or 2.6 the plan is to implement a mechanism that will automatically manage volume settings between Moode and Airplay. This should make it easier to switch back and forth. Regards, Tim

That's a shame as I have no intention of installing Airplay.

That's a shame as I have no intention of installing Airplay. Hi, Airplay is built into MoOde so all you need to do is send the music from an iPad, iPhone or an iPod. Handy if you own one or the other of course. Mike.

I don't have an i-Anything and will not be purchasing one. If it can't be done direct from the RPi (as with Volumio) it's a bit of a shame. Relying on Apple hardware to get the job done is no of interest. Sorry!

I believe there is a Windows utility to talk Airplay so you don't have to buy Apple items. As I no longer use PCs except for work I can only suggest a search if you wanted that facility.
